The Princess of Wales has shared an adorable photograph of her youngest son, Prince Louis, to mark his seventh birthday - and it's of a very relatable life stage. In the new portrait, Prince Louis grins at the camera, missing his two front baby teeth, as his adult teeth begin to grow in.
The new portrait was shared to the Prince and Princess of Wales' official Instagram page and received thousands of likes within minutes, as commenters remarked on how grown up the young Prince looked. In the portrait, Prince Louis looks smart in a shirt and V-neck grey jumper and jeans as he smiles while sitting a log, presumably in the grounds of one of the royal residences. "Wishing Prince Louis a very Happy 7th Birthday!" reads the caption.
Kate has previously revealed that she has a special homemade tradition she likes to follow for each of her children's birthdays. Chatting to Dame Mary Berry for her BBC show A Berry Royal Christmas in 2019, the Princess revealed, "I love making the cake." She added it had, "become a bit of a tradition that I stay up 'til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much. But I love it."
The royal family regularly share birthday wishes and, frequently, official portraits, on birthdays. For Prince Louis' fifth birthday, Kate posted some adorable photographs with her youngest child grinning in a wheelbarrow as she pushes him along.
In the photos, Prince Louis wears a blue knitted Fairisle jumper over a checked shirt, with denim shorts. Kate's side profile can be seen pushing the wheelbarrow he sits in, and she wears a blue and navy Breton striped jumper.
Prince Louis is the youngest of the Prince and Princess of Wales' three children, following Prince George and Princess Charlotte. He was born on 23 April 2018 at St Mary's Hospital in London.
