Proving this statement is Britain's best dressed Alexa Chung, who stepped out of her hotel in a casual ensemble so good we're going to copy it immediately, a task that's pretty simple since Chung opted for a trench from the high street: specifically a creased-effect trench from Mango.
The Broadcaster and former designer styled the trench to perfection, adding a gold cuff over the sleeve of her coat(genius) and pairing it with white trousers, a monogrammed tote bag and some simple ballet flats. The whole look gave off a very '1990s Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy' vibe.
Ever the chameleon, this outfit came a day after the 41-year-old looked like an old Hollywood screen siren for the premiere of Vouvelle Vague.
She paired a Balenciaga black gown with Boucheron jewellery for the event.
