A ROYAL RE-WEAR: SOPHIE, DUCHESS OF EDINBURGH REWORKS 'WEAR-IT-ANYWHERE' SKIRT BY FAVOURITE BRAND – GET YOURS

The Duchess of Edinburgh is always impeccably dressed for all of her public occasions, managing to balance timelessness and elegance while still remaining on trend. Sophie's secret to dressing well is knowing the brands (including Aspiga, which she recently wore) and cuts which work for her, as well as choosing versatile pieces. For instance, The Duchess returned to one of her favourite brands for her most recent outing, and re-wore not one but two stylish pieces.

The Duchess of Edinburgh was in Northampton on Monday (9 June) to visit a new bike park, created on the site of a former golf course. For the visit, she wore an almost all-white look which incorporated warm neutral shades, but it was her maxi skirt which was the staple of the ensemble.

The A-line split skirt features a floral print and incorporated belt around the waist. The skirt is by a frequently worn designer of the Duchess; Gabriela Hearst. It's a piece she has worn before as part of a very different look, proving it's the ultimate 'wear-it-anywhere' option. The skirt is actually available as part of a co-ordinated set with a matching shirt (there is also a shirt dress in the same print) which Sophie wore during a trip to Malta last October.

Co-ords are a versatile choice because they give you the option to wear the pieces together, or to be mixed and matched as separates. This maximises the amount of outfits you can create with them. On her most recent outing, Sophie paired her skirt with a classic white t-shirt and a white jacket, which she has also worn before.

At a remembrance service in Stafford in 2024, the Duchess wore the mid-length jacket closed, fastening up the statement gold buttons and pairing it with another maxi skirt, but this time in a bold green colour.

Sophie's exact Gabriela Hearst skirt is the 'Dugald skirt' (or the 'Maude dress', if you're wanting the all-in-one shirt dress) and is still available online in some sizes, however you're looking at a price tag north of £1000 even in the sale.
