Louis Rees-Zammit continues to make a splash both on and off the field after it was revealed that he will feature on the cover of this month’s Men’s Health magazine.
The former Wales finisher shocked the rugby world early this year when he opted to walk away from the sport before the Six Nations to take up American Football.
New challengeHis gamble paid off as he impressed in the NFL International Player Pathway program and went on to be signed by reigning Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs.
Rees-Zammit is currently attempting to break into the Chiefs’ starting roster ahead of the NFL season, with the next best thing being the team’s 17-man practice squad.
As he continues that battle, the 23-year-old caught up with Men’s Health magazine for an interview, where he has touched on several topics, including his exit from Wales.

“You get the hate with it, but I completely block that out – I’ve done for years,” he said of the backlash he faced after walking away before the 2024 Six Nations Championship.
“I know people are going to be disappointed that I’ve left rugby, but at the same time, I’ve got a new challenge and I need to work extremely hard to make my dream come true. I’m just really, really happy to be honest!”
‘I don’t want to have any regrets in life – and I know it would have been one of the biggest regrets I could ever have.’

The former Gloucester wing added: “I’m kind of leaving a sport that I’m getting to my best at, to play one that I’ve never played. I don’t want to have any regrets in life, and I know it would be one of the biggest regrets I could ever have.”
Without a doubt it’s been a whirlwind year so far for Rees-Zammit that has included plenty of change, as the ex-Lions tourist joked he had one issue with living in Kansas.
“There’s no Nando’s in Kansas City, which I’m absolutely gutted about,” he laughed.
“OK, I will miss running out in the Principality. All the fans. Singing the anthem. At the same time, I’m just very happy with where I’m at now.”
Rees-Zammit also touches on the subject of his dating life in the interview but with his focus on impressing and learning at the Chiefs, he admits to “not forcing” the matter.
“I’ve got a lot on my plate at the minute,” he said. “I’m open to a relationship, but I’m not forcing one… I’m very focused on what I’ve got to do.”
