MEGHAN SHARES PHOTO OF ARCHIE TO MARK HIS SEVENTH BIRTHDAY

The Duchess of Sussex has shared a rare glimpse into her family life in California to mark the seventh birthday of her son, Prince Archie.

In a personal post on Instagram on Wednesday, the Duchess shared a series of photographs of her eldest child, captioned: “7 years later... happy birthday to our sweet boy.”

The images include a previously unseen black-and-white photograph of the Duke of Sussex cradling Archie as a newborn.

In the picture, the infant is shown fast asleep on his father’s chest, wrapped in a blanket.

A second, more recent photograph captures Prince Archie and his younger sister, Princess Lilibet, four, walking side-by-side along a beach near the family’s home in Montecito.

Both children appear to have inherited the Duke’s signature red hair, a trait Prince Harry has previously attributed to the “strong” Spencer gene from the family of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

Archie was born on May 6, 2019, at the Portland Hospital in London. He was 10 months old when the Duke and Duchess stepped back from their roles as senior working royals and moved to North America, eventually settling in California in 2020.

The Duchess has previously spoken of her desire to provide a sense of “normalcy” for her children in the United States, describing simple traditions such as “day dates” with Archie for burgers and ice cream.

While the Sussexes have historically been protective of their children’s privacy, the Duchess has occasionally shared glimpses of family milestones on social media since returning to Instagram in 2025.

The couple have largely shunned the royal tradition of releasing annual formal portraits, preferring to share candid imagery through their own channels.

The birthday post follows a busy period for the couple, who recently returned from a series of engagements in Australia.

It also comes a month after the Duchess shared footage of the children taking part in an Easter egg hunt at their Montecito estate.
