M&S SHOPPERS LOVE £22 'LUXURIOUS' NIGHT CREAM THAT'S 'BETTER' THAN CLINIQUE'S £40 VERSION

M&S shoppers raved about one of the brand’s night creams, made to rejuvenate the skin overnight. Dubbed “eight hours of sleep in a jar”, the Sleep & Replenish Ultimate Sleep Cream has been praised as “luxurious” by customers.

Currently priced at £22.50 on M&S’s website, the cream has an average 4.8 out of five star rating from 668 reviews, including 567 five stars. The product is formulated to work in harmony with your body's natural circadian rhythm to tackle dryness, dullness and deep wrinkles overnight.

Ingredients include Olea Vitae, a plant-based oil to support your skin cells, plus Matrixyl 3000, a powerful peptide blend that helps to smooth wrinkles and improve tone and elasticity, as well as marula oil, and niacinamide. Customers shared their thoughts, highlighting positives like its non-greasy feel and doesn’t clog pores.

One shopper said: “Once you’ve used this luxurious night cream you won’t want another. It’s similar to a very expensive brand which costs £100 per pot which few can afford. The M&S formula night cream is perfect for mature skins.”

Another wrote: “I love this cream. The smell is delicate and not overpowering like some creams can be. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave an oily residue and it leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturised. Can’t really be better to be honest!

A third commented, “Definitely better than the Clinique one I bought. Still a bit heavy for me. I wear it in the day rather than at night. I don’t like greasy products so won’t buy again,” while a fourth said, “Not sure that this cream is any better than an ordinary night cream. It goes on well but is a little. I will not be buying it again.”

Clinique’s Turnaround™ Overnight Revitalizing Moisturizer is currently priced at £40 on the brand’s website, boasting an average 4.8 out of five star rating and a 96 per cent ‘would recommend’ rate from 26 reviews. One person wrote: “I bought this product last week as I felt that my skin always looked dull and tired. This moisturiser has transformed my skin within the week. It is now brighter and smoother. I will definitely be keeping this as part of my daily skin care routine. Fantastic product. It's a shame there isn't a day time version.”

Another said: “It's the best of the best moisturiser. I can't live without used it for five years highly recommended.”

However one person pointed out, “It sits on your skin, so when you put make-up on top it ends up being a flaky mess. And it doesn't have SPF in it. Other than it being vaguely shimmery, I don't see the benefit of this moisturiser.” You can find the same product on Amazon for £33.95.

Alternatively, products such as No7’s Lift & Luminate TRIPLE ACTION Night Cream Enhanced Formula can be purchased via Boots for £29.95, and is one of the site’s bestsellers, having an average 4.3 out of five star rating. One shopper recommended: “I use this after pure retinol serum and Lift & Luminate serum. It calms my skin and it's left glowing by the morning!”

Some purse-friendly options also include Boots’ own Skin Edit Nourishing Night Cream for £4, L’Oreal Paris Triple Active Night Cream for £4.99, and Olay Regenerist Retinol 24 Night Face Moisturiser With Retinol & Vitamin B3 for £19.99.
